Decide when you want Flash animations to run in Firefox

Flashblock is an extension for Firefox and Netscape that allows you to control when Adobe Flash runs in Firefox.

This is because there's nothing more annoying than Flash animations that leap into life and hog your RAM and bandwidth before you've even had a chance to see what's on the page. Flashblock leaves a play button on the page where a Flash animation has been blocked which can remain blocked or run by clicking on it.

If on the other hand you want it to allow certain sites, that's no problem either as Flashblock allows you to run Flash animations from sites that you choose to make safe via a whitelist. Although bandwidth and RAM have increased to handle Flash animations much more easily, this is still a useful plug-in worth having installed just in case.

Flashblock prevents you getting bogged down in unwanted Flash animations and videos and let's you concentrate on surfing your page.
