Block Flash from hogging your browser
There's nothing more annoying than a Flash pop-up, as it slows down your web browsing and puts you off what you were doing.
Flashblock is an extension for Firefox that takes a zero tolerance approach to Flash pop-ups. It simply stops them loading before they appear and then leaves Flash markers on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content if you want to. This not only saves intrusion on your browsing but also rescues a little bandwidth and reduces the risk of your browser crashing.
Flashblock is particularly useful when browsing Flash-heavy sites such as MySpace where you often spend more time fighting pop-ups, ads and animations that reading people's profiles. There aren't many configuration options but there is a Whitelist, which allows you to exclude certain Flash content, such as gaming sites.
Flashblock is an excellent tool for anyone that has had enough of Flash pop-ups and ads ruining their browsing experience.

Check your FF version first.
So I actually went and spent the 3 bucks to download this app (thinking it would sure be worth the price) and now (because I neglected to read the single review available), I discover that it doesn't work with FF 3.6.6.
Pros:
None since I can't use it with FF 3.6.6.
Cons:
None since I can't use it. More

Flashblock imcompatible with Firefox 3.6.3.
Sad - why won't they upgrade Flashblock to the current 3.6.3? I was sooo looking forward to blocking Flash in my preferred browser, and ClickToBlock is noted in other reviews to create problems in Firefox. Any other choices?
Pros:
none
Cons:
everything - not compatible More
